Visit to CEZAMAT at the Warsaw University of Technology
The answers to these and many other fascinating questions were revealed to 7th-semester students of Hydrogen Technologies and Electromobility during their visit to the Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies (CEZAMAT) at the Warsaw University of Technology.
CEZAMAT is one of the most modern research centres in Poland – a place where the future is happening here and now. Research is conducted here in the fields of bio-nanotechnology and nanotechnology, biomedical engineering, micro- and nanoelectronics, photonics, modern materials and innovative methods of producing renewable energy from sources that are always and everywhere available.
The CEZAMAT laboratories, commissioned in 2016, house state-of-the-art equipment operating in ultra-clean rooms. Only 10 microscopic particles, each measuring half a micrometre, are allowed per cubic foot of air. All this to enable the production of electronic components on a micro- and nanometre scale.
During the visit, students not only toured the laboratories and technological facilities, but also learned about the realities of working at CEZAMAT and the basic techniques of manufacturing microelectronic devices. The most impressive part was the opportunity to enter clean rooms and see with their own eyes how much precision, knowledge and advanced technology is needed to create a system that is... simply invisible.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the authorities of CEZAMAT at the Warsaw University of Technology for making this extremely inspiring visit possible and opening the doors to the world of cutting-edge science and technology to the students.
The group's supervisor and guide was Maciej Haras, PhD, Eng., assistant professor at CEZAMAT at the Warsaw University of Technology and the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Computer Science at the Gdańsk University of Technology.
