Inauguration of the Academic Year 2025/2026 at our faculty
The inauguration was opened with a speech by the Dean of the Faculty, Mirosław Wołoszyn, PhD, DSc Eng., Associate professor. The oath taken by first-year students was preceded by a speech by Anna Golijanek-Jędrzejczyk, PhD, DSc Eng., Associate professor, Vice-Dean for Education.
Numerous awards were presented during the ceremony:
The Gdańsk University of Technology Rector's Individual Award, 2nd degree, for outstanding scientific achievements in 2024 was awarded to:
- Dr Arkadiusz Lewicki, Professor at Gdańsk University of Technology
The individual third degree award of the Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology for outstanding scientific achievements in 2024 was awarded to:
- Maria Ferlin, MSc Eng.
- Rafał Łangowski, PhD Eng.
- Jarosław Tarnawski, PhD Eng.
The Rector's Award of Gdańsk University of Technology, 3rd degree, for outstanding teaching activities in 2024 was awarded to:
- Adam Młyński, PhD Eng.
The Rector's Award of Gdańsk University of Technology, 3rd degree, for outstanding teaching activities in 2024 was awarded to:
- Wojciech Rosiński, PhD Eng.
The Gdańsk University of Technology Rector's Individual Second Degree Award for outstanding research and development activities in 2024 was awarded to:

The Gdańsk University of Technology Rector's Team Award, 2nd degree, for outstanding organisational activity in 2024 was awarded to:

The Dean's Award of the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering for the winner of the nationwide competition ‘Win a WEiA Student ID’ was awarded to:

The Dean's Award of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation for the best-rated teacher in student surveys in the summer semester of the 2023/2024 academic year was awarded to:

The Dean's Award of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation for the best-rated teacher in student surveys in the winter semester of the 2024/2025 academic year was awarded to:
- Mateusz Czyżniewski, MSc Eng.
The Polish Electricians Association Awards were presented in the 12th edition of the "Competition for the best engineering thesis".
The 1st Prize was awarded to:
- Filip Gomoracki, Eng.
Thesis title: ‘Design, construction and software of a self-balancing vehicle’, supervisor: Robert Piotrowski, PhD, DSc Eng., Associate professor.
The 2nd Prize was awarded to:
- Mateusz Zajączkowski, Eng.
- Anastazja Zdunek, Eng.
Title of thesis: ‘Design of a power electronic converter for integrating an energy storage device with an electric car charger’, supervisor: PhD, DSc Eng., Associate professor.
The following students received awards in the 2nd edition of the Gdańsk University of Technology Talent Scholarship Competition:

- Martyna Strapczuk – Automation, Robotics and Control Systems
Awards were also presented in the Competition for the Best Academic Teachers and Employees at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation, organised by the Faculty Student Council of EiA.
The awards were presented to:
- Category: Teacher of Rhetoric: Anita Dąbrowicz-Tlałka, PhD, Associate professor
- Faculty Ray Category: Jacek Zawalich, PhD Eng.
- Conductor of the Year category: Rafał Łangowski, PhD Eng.
- Student Support category: Mateusz Czyżniewski, MSc. Eng.
- Faculty Pioneer category: Adam Młyński, PhD Eng.
- Administrative Employee of the Year category: Beata Wysocka, MSc.
Representatives of the Faculty Student Council, Mateusz Winnicki and Piotr Bartkowiak, presented the scope of the FSC's activities to students and the wide range of opportunities available to them, including professional development (internships, work placements, networking), academic development (independent learning, developing passions, experimentation), social (meeting people with similar interests, cultural diversity) and personal (greater independence, discovering one's own potential, building responsibility). They reminded students that university studies provide an opportunity to gain professional experience, develop skills, establish valuable contacts and discover one's own talents.
The inaugural lecture, ‘We are creating the technologies of tomorrow together today: University-industry partnership in the era of digital transformation’ was given by Mr Jakub Wardziński, representative of SIEMENS Sp. z o. o.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the university authorities and the companies GPEC SYSTEM Sp. z o. o., SIEMENS Sp. z o. o., GlobalLogic/A Hitachi Group Company, as well as the PG Alumni Association and the Bohaterska Załoga ORP Orzeł District School Complex No. 2 in Wejherowo.
