On August 26-29, employees of the Department of Intelligent Control Systems and Decision Support participated in the international scientific conference Methods and Models in Automation and Robotics in Międzyzdroje.

It was the 29th edition of the conference, which presents scientific papers in the following categories of Automation and Robotics:

  • Identification, modeling, and simulation
  • Signal processing
  • Control and systems theory
  • Robotics
  • Intelligent systems and methods
  • Control systems

The following articles were presented and received with great interest from conference participants:

  • Jakub Buler, MSc Eng., Rafał Buler,MSc Eng., Krystian Brzozowski, Eng., Michał Grochowski, PhD, DSc Eng., Associate professor: “Multi-head Attention Multiple Instance Learning Deep Neural Classifier Enhanced with Model Uncertainty Quantification”.
  • Krystian Brzozowski, Eng., Jakub Buler, MSc Eng., Rafał Buler, MSc Eng., Michał Grochowski, PhD, DSc Eng., Associate professor: “Comprehensive Quantitative Evaluation of the Performance and Trustworthiness of Deep Learning Models - Skin Lesion Classification Case Study”.
  • Mateusz Czyżniewski, MSc Eng., Rafał Łangowski, PhD Eng., Robert Piotrowski, PhD, DSc Eng., Associate professor: “Respiration estimation using hierarchical sliding mode observer in application to WWTP”.
  • Beata Pokryfka, MSc Eng., Kajetan Zielonacki, MSc Eng., Jarosław Tarnawski, PhD Eng.: “Constrained QP optimization in a PLC environment”.

The conference was attended by many leading scientists from most Polish technical universities and renowned scientists from abroad. Many interesting discussions were held, new scientific contacts were established, and new research ideas were formed, potentially resulting in articles with authors from other scientific units.

Krystian Brzozowski, Eng. (Ph.D. student, supervisor - M. Grochowski, PhD, DSc Eng., Associate professor) took 2nd place in the Young Author Best Paper competition.
