Marcin Drzewiecki, PhD Eng. is a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education

Marcin Drzewiecki, PhD, Eng. is an assistant professor in the Department of Electric Drive Automation and Energy Conversion.
His research and development work focuses on Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and automation solutions supporting the marine, offshore and offshore energy industries. He is developing methods for physical modelling of the marine environment to enable the recreation of sea waveforms in a more accurate and user-friendly way. It is also involved in the harvesting and processing of marine wave energy to ensure the reliability and energy autonomy of sustainable Internet of Things devices that can be used for communication, monitoring and hazard warning. These solutions enable the harvesting of free marine wave energy, which is a renewable energy resource with great potential. It is also developing solutions for the hybrid conversion of water wave and light energy (ecoenergy, green technologies).
From 2013 to 2021, he worked at the Ship Technology Centre S.A., where he managed three research projects. From 2017 to 2021, he was a member of the ITTC Environmental Modelling Specialist Committee, an organisation working with the International Maritime Organisation. In 2020, he defended his PhD thesis, which resulted in an implementation for the Ship Technology Centre while studying models of marine vessels and wind towers, among others. Working with MpicoSys, he is the leader of one of the work packages of the SUPERIOT project (Horizon Europe), implemented in a consortium of 11 partners (companies and universities from Europe).
