95th anniversary of the birth of Prof. Eng. Jacek Marecki
Prof. Eng. Jacek Marecki is a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering, Gdansk University of Technology, professor of technical sciences, scientist, specialist in the field of power engineering, founder of a scientific school in the field of cogeneration, full member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Engineering in Poland. He served as Vice-Rector for Science from 1984 to 1987, Dean of the Electrical Faculty of GdanskTech from 1969 to 1973 and Head of the Department of Electrical Power Engineering from 1987 to 1991 and Head of the Department of Power Plants and Energy Management from 1991 to 2000. He retired in 2005.
Mirosław Wołoszyn, PhD, DSc Eng., Associate professor, welcomed the assembled guests. After speeches by Prof. Eng. Dariusz Mikielewicz, Vice-Chancellor for Science, faculty members and invited guests, the profile of the Jubilarian was presented by Prof. Eng. Waldemar Kamrat, Doctoral students promoted by the Jubilarian also attended the ceremony. Prof. Eng. Marecki was present at the ceremony remotely, delivering a speech to those gathered and thanking them for their remembrance and for organising the Jubilee.
