Professor Romuald Szczęsny Award Jury Meeting - nominees selected!

On 2 June 2025, the meeting of the Chapter of the Professor Romuald Szczęsny Award took place in the LINTE^2 Laboratory at the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering. The meeting of the Chapter, hitherto organised in Gdynia, was held at Gdansk University of Technology for the first time. The purpose of the meeting was to select the winners of the 24th edition of the competition, which honours outstanding theses.

The Chapter consisted of:

  • Mirosław Wołoszyn, PhD, DSc Eng., Associate professor, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Chairman of the Chapter,
  • Eliza Mrozowska-Rozwadowska, M.Sc., Head of Startup Zone, Patent Information, Conference Centre PPNT Gdynia, representative of the President of Gdynia,
  • D. Eng. Piotr Musznicki, PhD, DSc Eng., Associate professor, Secretary of the Chapter,
  • Prof. Eng. Agnieszka Bartoszek-Pączkowska, D.Sc., Chemistry Faculty representative,
  • Paweł Czarnul, PhD, DSc Eng., Associate professor, representative of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics,
  • Piotr Grudowski, PhD, DSc Eng., representing the Faculty of Management and Economics,
  • Michał Kwasek, PhD, Eng.,representative of the Faculty of Architecture.

The meeting was attended by seven members of the Chapter, representing various faculties of Gdansk University of Technology and the City of Gdynia. The chairman of the Chapter was Mirosław Wołoszyn, Ph.D., Professor of the university, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering.
 
Thirteen theses from four faculties of Gdansk University of Technology were submitted for this year's competition. All entries met the formal requirements and were qualified for the next stage. The open part of the meeting included presentations of the submitted theses. 11 authors presented their achievements in person and one joined online. After hearing all the presentations, the Chapter moved on to the closed part, dedicated to determining the ranking of the works.
