Professor Waldemar Kamrat appointed as a member of the Steering Committee of NCBiR

On March 25, 2021, Professor Waldemar Kamrat from the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering at Gdańsk University of Technology was appointed by Przemysław Czarnek, Minister of Education and Science, as a member of the Steering Committee of the National Center for Research and Development.

Based on Article. 16 sec. 3 and 7 of the Act of April 30, 2010 on the National Center for Research and Development (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 1861 and of 2019, item 2020), Professor Kamrat was appointed a Member of the Steering Committee of the National Center for Research and Development for scientific research and development works in the area of ​​state security and defense.

I treat the appointment as a member of the Steering Committee not only as an honor, but above all as a duty for the good and security of Poland, says Professor Waldemar Kamrat.

The most important tasks of the Steering Committee include:

  • preparing projects for the Minister of Education and Science of strategic research and development programs, under which scientific research or development works are carried out, 
  • defining thematic scopes of scientific research or development work for the benefit of state defense and security;
  • coordinating the implementation of scientific research or development work for the defense and security of the state as part of strategic research and development programs or other tasks of the Center.
