Final of the National Competition "Win WEiA index"

On 5th and 6th of June 2023, presentations were made of the project to automate the measurement of the viscosity of 10W40 engine oil using the Stokes method, as presented and described in the competition task of the second stage of the Competition.

14 Participants qualified for Stage 2 of the Competition, of whom 8 sent solutions to the Competition task. All Participants of Stage 2 of the Competition who sent projects were qualified to present their projects.

The projects and their presentations were evaluated by the Competition Jury. In assessing the projects, the Commission took into account: the original character of the solution to the Competition task, the correctness and completeness of the project description, the presentation, and the discussion and answers to questions posed by the members of the Commission. The final result of the Competition was also influenced by the results of Stage 1 of the Competition (the test, on the basis of which the Participants were qualified for Stage 2 of the Competition).

After summing up all the results, the Competition Commission composed of:

  • PhD Eng Ireneusz Mosoń, university professor - chairman (Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering);
  • PhD Eng Grzegorz Kostro - Member of the Commission (Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering);
  • MSc Eng Maciej Adameczek - Member of the Commission (LOTOS Asfalt);
  • MSc Eng Przemysław Werc - Member of the Commission (LOTOS Serwis);

at the meeting on the 14th June 2023 selected the winners of the National Competition "Win WEiA index", who were:

  • Franciszek Bonisławski from District School Complex No. 2 in Wejherowo,
  • Michał Czapliński from the Communications School Complex in Gdańsk,
  • Filip Pieper from the District School Complex No. 2 in Wejherowo,
  • Krzysztof Pliszka from the Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic School Complex in Toruń,
  • Oliwier Poglettke from the District School Complex No. 2 in Wejherowo,
  • Adam Rutkowski from the 10th Bilingual High School in Gdańsk.
  • Congratulations to the winners and participants of the Competition.

The winner of the Competition may apply for admission to the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering of Gdańsk University of Technology in the field of Electrical Engineering or Automation, Robotics and Control Systems on preferential terms, in the year of obtaining the secondary school certificate, after submitting documents specified in the recruitment rules. The remaining 2nd stage participants will receive Diplomas of Participation in the 2nd stage of the National Competition "Win WEiA index".
