It is with deep regret that we inform you that on September 5, 2018, at the age of 73, died Zdzisław Kusto, PhD - retired, long-term employee of the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering.

He also collaborated with the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk, where in 1984 he defended one of the first doctoral dissertations in Poland related to solar energy and obtained a doctorate in technical sciences.

He specialized in the issues of the efficiency of using unconventional energy sources, including nuclear and renewable energy sources. In addition to active scientific and didactic work, he was also the organizer and manager of many editions of postgraduate studies at the Gdańsk University of Technology, including the first edition of the Postgraduate Study in Energy Auditing.
