Janusz Fudali
Janusz Fudali was born on July 20, 1948 in Gdańsk. In 1973 he graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Gdańsk University of Technology, where he started working. For 40 years of his professional career, he was associated with his home Faculty - first as an engineering and technical employee, then as a research and development worker, then deputy director of the Institute of Electrical Power and Automation, and in the years 1991-2013 as an administrative director.
In the years 1999-2013, for four consecutive terms, Janusz Fudali was a member of the Senate of the Gdańsk University of Technology. He was also an active member of the Gdańsk University of Technology Alumni Association and a co-founder of its circle at the Faculty, as well as a member of the Polish Cybernetic Society, where he served for many years as the secretary of the Gdańsk Branch Board.
As administrative director, Janusz Fudali significantly contributed to the development of the Faculty. He initiated and supervised numerous projects for the expansion and renovation of research and teaching infrastructure, and in 2010-2013 he personally managed the project Thermomodernization of teaching and research facilities at the Gdańsk University of Technology and the University of Gdańsk, co-financed by the European Union.
For his professional achievements, Janusz Fudali received over twenty awards from the Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology. He also received many state decorations, including the Silver Cross of Merit, the Gold Cross of Merit and the Gold Medal for Long Service.
He will remain in our memory as a well-liked, kind and cordial colleague and Superior.
