Inaugural meeting of the Consultative Council on March 17, 2017

Consultative Council representatives
On March 17, 2017, the first meeting of the Consultative Council of the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering at Gdańsk University of Technology took place in the 2016-2020 term.

The meeting was attended by 15 members or representatives of the members of the Council, whom the Dean of the Faculty, prof. Janusz Nieznański handed over the acts of appointment.

The meeting started with the Dean's speech on the determinants of the Faculty's development in the period 2016-2020. After the Dean's presentation, the members of the Council briefly introduced themselves and the institutions they represented.

As part of the discussion, the following views were expressed, inter alia:

  • The aim of the Council's activity should be participation in solving the Faculty's problems. Consultation with the Council can be carried out by sending out appropriate questionnaires, and brainstorming sessions can be organized 3-4 times a year. Waldemar Dunajewski
  • Consultations should concern well-defined areas: learning, cooperation, networking. Grzegorz Purzycki
  • Meetings of the Council should take place 1-2 times per semester with a specific leading topic (eg meeting on student internships in enterprises). Tomasz Buda
  • The cooperation of the companies represented in the Council with students, and in particular with research clubs, is important. Such cooperation allows students to gain experience and qualifications (e.g. the TS Team program), and the company builds human resources that can be used during periodic work stacks. Jan Mioduski
  • The companies represented on the Board can conduct training for academic teachers (how the company works, decision-making processes, security,…). Katarzyna Dalba
  • Enterprises can offer training in soft skills. Jadwiga Piechowiak
  • Cogeneration may be an important topic of substantive cooperation. Małgorzata Sądej

The members of the Consultative Council decided that the concept of organizing meetings at the offices of the companies represented in the Consultative Council was worth implementing and declared their readiness to organize such meetings in their companies.
