A graduate of the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering, winner of the Prof. Romuald Szczęsny award (2016 edition)

MSc Piotr Czyż, a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering, won the annual Prof. Romuald Szczęsny award for the best diploma thesis in the field of modern technologies, defended at Gdańsk University of Technology in 2015.

The award was granted for the thesis The use of GaN transistors in high-efficiency converters, made under the supervision of Artur Cichowski, PhD, from the Department of Power Electronics and Electrical Machines.

In its fifteen-year history, the award is the third victory of a graduate of our Faculty in the prestigious Competition organized by the city of Gdynia.

The Award Committee also awarded three equal awards of PLN 3,000 to the following graduates of the Gdańsk University of Technology:

MSc Dorota Koperkiewicz for the thesis Modification of β-cyclodextrin in order to obtain the pH of the sensitive carrier of anthracycline drugs, carried out under the supervision of Kamila Żelechowska, PhD (Faculty of Chemistry)

MSc Michał Krogulecki and MSc Marcin Pioch for his master's thesis Remote monitoring system of physical activity of elder people, made under the supervision of Stefan Sieklicki, PhD (Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics)

Eng. Wojciech Mikusk and Eng. Paweł Milewski for the engineering thesis Design of a device for the automated laying of silicone joints, made under the supervision of Jacek Czyżewicz, PhD (Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering).

The awards, funded by the Mayor of Gdynia, were presented to the winners during the 2016/2017 Academic Year Inauguration at Gdańsk University of Technology.
