On the 16th of June 2020, the Council of the Discipline Automation, Electronics and Electrical Engineering of the Gdańsk University of Technology promoted Ph.D. Eng. Marek Adamowicz from the Department of Electric Drives and Energy Conversion to habilitated doctor in engineering and technical sciences.
The academic achievement of the habilitated doctor is a series of thematically related publications titled Converters with input impedance circuits. The publications describe the methods of synthesis and present the results of research on new impedance circuits ensuring the improvement of the properties of inverters operating in renewable energy generation systems. Resonance systems using silicon carbide semiconductor devices play a special role in this respect.
Marek Adamowicz obtained the degree of doctor of technical sciences at the Gdańsk University of Technology in 2008. In recent years, his research interests have included new technologies of propulsion systems and power supply systems for high-speed trains, as well as power electronics converters with broadband semiconductor devices for renewable energy generation systems and for electromobility. These works are carried out in close cooperation with the industry. Dr hab. Eng. Marek Adamowicz is the author and co-author of over 80 scientific publications and 8 patents.
