On the 30th of April 2020, the Council of the Discipline of Automation, Electronics and Electrical Engineering of the Gdańsk University of Technology promoted Ph.D. Eng. Jarosław Łuszcz to habilitated doctor in engineering and technical sciences.
The basis for awarding the degree of habilitated doctor was the evaluation of scientific achievements, the main element of which is the scientific monograph entitled High Frequency Conducted Emission in AC Motor Drives Fed by Frequency Converters: Sources and Propagation Paths published by John Wiley & Sons in 2018.
In the monograph, the author presents the results of scientific research on the generation and propagation of electromagnetic disturbances conducted in converter drive systems with induction motors.
The converter systems analyzed in the monograph are now widely used and also recognized as one of the biggest threats to the compatible cooperation of electronic devices and control systems.
The results of detailed analyzes presented in the monograph show that the propagation of conducted disturbances is one of the basic factors influencing the increase of disturbance levels in electrical installations, which may result in disruption of the correct operation of powered devices.
Jarosław Łuszcz works in the Department of Power Electronics and Electrical Machines. His scientific interests include issues related to electromagnetic compatibility of power electronic converters, in particular the emission of electromagnetic disturbances conducted in the low frequency range, significantly affecting the quality of electricity in modern power supply networks. He is the author and co-author of several dozen scientific publications.
