On the 14th of January 2020, the Discipline Board of Automation, Electronics and Electrical Engineering of the Gdańsk University of Technology apointed Ph.D. Eng. Piotr Musznicki with the title of habilitated doctor in engineering and technical sciences. This is the first completed habilitation procedure for an employee of the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering carried out by the new Discipline Board.
The basis for awarding the degree of habilitated doctor was the evaluation of scientific achievements, the main element of which is the scientific monograph The conducted EMI in DC-DC converters, published by Ph.D. Eng. Musznicki in 2018. The monograph describes phenomena associated with the generation and propagation of electromagnetic disturbances conducted in DC power converters.
In 2007 Piotr Musznicki obtained a Ph.D. degree in technical sciences at the Gdańsk University of Technology and the Institute of Technology in Grenoble in France - under a joint doctorate agreement. Currently, he is a research and teaching employee at the Department of Power Electronics and Electrical Machines. He is also the dean's representative for cooperation with universities in China.
His scientific interests mainly concern the electromagnetic compatibility of power electronic converters. He published 20 publications and scientific papers in this field.
